    The Inspiron 15 is a dedicated multimedia machine that enables you to watch movie and view photos in its 15.6” HD widescreen display. It offers a WXGA resolution screen like the Inspiron 1520, but more, you do have an option – either to choose the glossy or the matt screen. Either way, the quality of viewing angles is sharp. The only downbeat for a glossy screen is it can have too much reflection.

    This Dell’s Inspiron 15 also has a great value for its looks. It offers 6 lively colors which is a perfect add-on for trendsetters. Plus, the materials used to mold this laptop are devoted to make the case solid. With the firm hinges and a solid cover, it is enough to protect the screen and everything inside it.

    Speaking of the inside, the keyboard of this notebook is very well positioned making it a bet for touch typists. Its firmness and the grip it provides is also a plus factor.

    So much for its beauty, the Inspiron 15 is less powerful than the previous released Inspiron 1520 because of its graphic card which is dedicated only for average users. Therefore, this does not conform to the demand of challenging and more demanding tasks. It would be as limited as for office uses and not for multimedia assignments. Though booting is fast because of its Intel Dual Core processor, still, its performance is not exactly for extreme users.

    On its ports and connections, it is somewhat standard for usual multimedia laptops. You can see the microphone and headphone jacks at the front part together with the memory card slot. On its left are lock slot, DC jack, 2 USB ports, VGA out, Ethernet and modem ports, HDMI and FireWire. On the right side are the ExpressCard slot, optical drive, Wi-Fi switch, S-video port, and 2 USB 2.0 ports. And, surprisingly or unsurprisingly, there’s nothing you can see at the back. Now these jacks and ports will allow easy transfers on digital images, music and video files from your camera phone, DSLRs, and MP3 players.

    About audio and speakers, Inspiron 15 has it located at the top of the keyboard. The audio quality is just the same with all other notebooks, and so with the noise emissions. In a quite environment where all seems asleep, minus the snoring, all you can hear is the humming fan amazingly controlling the system’s mounting heat.

    In utilizing its power, the 6-cell battery can give you almost 3 hours of access on your favorite office software and websites. And if you move up to a 9-cell battery, it might last for 5 hours depending on the intensity of its usage.

    In general, Inspiron 15 is another good product from Dell. Only, it won’t be ideal for users with so much to do on his laptop. However, it is recommendable for users who perform tasks only for office works and multimedia presentations who doesn’t need much as they wanted to spend less – not more than $399.
