Lenovo ThinkPad W700 Review
By business laptop

Lenovo has this reputation of producing dependable notebooks. But with the ThinkPad W700, it’s more than just dependable – it’s superior.
With its familiar physique, ThinkPad is consistently sticking to its usual mode. But this ThinkPad is large compared to the other Lenovo models with a measure of 16.1 x 12.2 x 1.6 inches. And it weighs relatively heavy at 8.3lbs. Because of its wide size, this business laptop has enough room for a separate numeric keypad. With the keyboard’s familiar layout, this notebook is making hammering a more convenient task. Moreover, the extra space beneath the keyboard has a 3×5-inch tablet digitizer. W700 also included a pen to utilize the said feature.
For those who are not familiar with digitizer, it is the one that is used by artists to draw a picture on the Microsoft Paint or touch up a picture in Photoshop. It is easier when imagined but in actuality, it needs familiarization specifically when utilizing the lower part of the pad.
However, its extensive size contributes to the superiority of its over-all design. The 17-inch display is working well with the 1920×1200 resolution. It is extremely good if you are occupying an image editor job description or a movie editor perhaps. The W700’s LCD can display good quality images because of its brightness and lucidity and also because of its built-in color calibrator. So, if we are to state the obvious, everything that you can see on this laptop is a good display.
The great visual exhibit is also brought possible by the nVidia Quadro FX 3700M graphics processor option which is working hand-in-hand with 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Q9300 processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM. And the added plus factor is the 360GB memory space with 7200 RPM. With these hardwares, I doubt lagging can still be experienced despite heavy data traffic.
Another good thing for this huge business laptop is its connectivity. With the larger area, it provides more options for ports and jacks. So it is expected to give a full-scale connectivity to the unit.
But on the not-so-brighter side, the battery of this business notebook is not that heavy-duty. Its battery life can only have almost three hours of work.
Therefore, with the Thinkpad W700, it is truly a helpful business laptop. It can do almost anything from business-related works to technical ones. It can do business proposals as well as engineering drawings and photo and video editing. But more to its downside, the large-sized laptop can give you the feel of uneasiness and immobility. All of these ups and downs are clad with the price tag worth $1,129.00.
