Sony NS Series Review
By business laptop

The Sony Vaio NS series has the simplest design among Sony business laptops. It has more of a sturdy approach with its strong plastic chassis. Moreover, it has a cloth-like finishing on its cover that adds to the sophisticated feel when you are holding the notebook. Adding to its strength are the wide hinges that holds the cover and the base making wobbling an unattainable state.
By the way, this laptop offers 3-color options namely the nightfall blue, silk white, and granite silver.
At the back-cover area is a 15.4-inch screen with a 1280 x 800 resolution. It has a brilliant display of images and vibrant display of colors especially if you are viewing with a Blu-ray Disc. The high-definition performance of this laptop will surely exhilarate you. But what makes this screen unique is its XBRITE-ECO technology which allows you to have a better vision through controlled brightness. It also has a glossy screen but reflects less glares compared to other branded laptops.
Meanwhile, Sony is fabulously consistent with their keyboards. With Vaio NS’s keyboard, it displays a traditional Sony style with flat landscape yet effective because of the key’s responsiveness. It also has a good spacing that provides comfort among touch typists. An extra plus is added to the scoreboard because of its touchpad. It is sensitive and so with its vertical and horizontal scrolls.
With Vaio NS’s connections, it has an average ports and jacks mounted at the sides such as the VGA, headphone and microphone jacks, 4 USB ports, FireWire, SD card and Memory Stick readers, ExpressCard, Modem, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi.
When it comes to performance, Sony stays in the competition. With the 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 running with up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM and with 250GB hard disk drive, it is definitely feasible and can ran side-by-side with other high-end business laptops. So, performance wise, this notebook really rocks.
However, the drawback of this beautiful thing is its battery life. It can offer us with the disturbing minimal working hours. This is where Sony should spend a little more time with their research and development for their laptops. Though, in press releases, they claimed that it can last up to 4 hours. But in actuality, it is almost reduced in to half.
To wrap up, the Sony Vaio NS series is indeed a power smartly dressed, a performance neatly clothed. With a price starting at $779.99, this is perfect for a common user which spends less amount of time computing than travelling.
