    Toshiba Satellite E105 Review

    By business laptop

The new Satellite E105 is Toshiba’s release that allows ambidexterity. This notebook has capabilities that can be utilized by people in all walks of life –students, small time business owners, medium-sized entrepreneurs, and moguls.

Satellite E105 has an aluminum body that projects a very clean finish. Nice edges are well-trimmed that looks more exquisite than the previous Toshiba laptops. Thus, its toughness is bold just with a single glance at this box-type notebook. Moreover, this 14-inch business laptop comes with a weight at about 5.1lbs, a very obvious sign for its portability and maneuverability.

Inside the aluminum coat is a 14.1-inch screen that can display a bright and sharp images at a direct face-to-face contact. With its glossy panel, 1280×800-pixel resolution, and backlight, it can surely provide a quality graphics display. But, as usual, glossy screens are prone to poor display when used directly under the rays of the sun. So, outdoor uses for this business laptop are not advisable.

Meanwhile, opposite the screen is a keyboard that also has a backlight. It has multimedia shortcut buttons for immediate access and with keypads so soft and responsive, the type of keys the touch typists would spend their whole life with. The touchpad, which possesses the same color with the palmrest, can be noticed with the line margins that clearly separates it from its surroundings. It is sensitive and is easy to glide on with your fingertips. At the bottom part of the touchpad are the two mouse buttons which are separated by the fingerprint reader.

Back from the outside, we can see a 5-in-1 card reader, the headphone and microphone jacks. On the left side, we have the optical drive, a USB port, and the power jack. On the right side, we have another USB port, an eSATA port, LAN, and HDMI. It also has a jack for radio antenna at the right side.

As for the audio, the built-in speakers of Satellite E105 are behind eight ball. The bass output is not enough. Though it has a radio antenna feature, which is some kind of unique, the signals are clear but the audio performance is poor.

Despite its laidback speaker set-up, this business laptop has powerful capabilities. With its Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor that is running at 2.26GHz, which is working with a 4GB of DDR2 RAM, is a perfect combination for extreme productivity among businessmen. It is unquestionably a diligent business laptop. And for students, this might be a bad topic to discuss, but I can’t help to mention that this notebook is also a good cheat-mate.

While its battery can run the entire unit for about 4.5 hours, it’s positively good life span. But if you are using it in an energy-saving mode, it can give you 2 more labor hours.

Conclusively, this laptop has mobility and power combined. Though you can’t make use of it exceedingly on the outdoors, its size and weight are an apparent characteristics of its portability. With its excellent performance, business people will surely find this equally attractive and college students might see this eventually a ‘useful’ laptop.

Before I forget, you can grab this notebook at a starting rate of $1,199.99.
